Stemmed from humble beginnings on a residential plot in a modest suburb in Johannesburg, South Africa;
Tiger Wheel & Tyre has, over the last 50+ years, flourished into the trusted brand in automotive fitment and service excellence that so many have come to rely on today.

When budding local entrepreneur and original founder, Jimmy Joannou returned from Canada in 1967, he embarked on a new business venture using his newly acquired skill for turning scrap rims into hand-crafted custom wheels. This newfound interest quickly turned profitable when he started Tiger Speed Den, an accessory shop, with friend and business partner, Dennis Cohen.

Less than 10 years later in 1972, South African race car driver, Eddie Keizan bought the company for R14,000 and went on to become the head of Tiger Wheel & Tyre, as it’s known today. Sadly, Keizan passed-away in 2016, however his legacy and values continue to live on in the brand he held so near and dear to his heart.
